Google AdSense: how to make money blogging!

Making money blogging with Google Adsense | Part 1

You've probably heard that Google AdSense can make a lot of money, but how do you make it work on YOUR blog?

In our modern economy, it is important to find more ways to make money. In fact, being able to independently increase your earnings is one of the most important aspects of surviving in such treacherous economic times. Knowing how to generate income from Google AdSense is one way to increase your profits every month.

While Google AdSense was originally designed for website and blog publishers, anyone who creates and maintains their own blog or website can take advantage of this incredible opportunity. Whether you're a full-time employee and building your online presence in your spare time or doing web design, for example, you can earn a lot of income with this tool if you know how to use it to your advantage.

By allowing ads on your blogs, you are creating a static income stream. Basically, it's that simple, but there are important considerations to take into account.

advertising effect

The traffic coming to your blog, no matter how they found it, will evaluate you and your business on many factors. The design, layout, and navigation of a blog is one factor. Another factor is the ads you post on the site.

If you visit some of the world's largest media, like CNN, you've probably seen a lot of advertisements on their websites. However, when ads are front and center, they detract from the purpose of the blog itself and can alienate visitors.

You are not a CNN, so any new visitor to your site will be important. Some blog owners don't understand the basic concept that consumers can, and often do, get turned off by too many ads on the site or ads that overtake the blog itself. Advertising should be secondary to the content of the blog.

It doesn't make sense for you or your business to run ads that get more attention than your blog's design or content. You haven't done much internet marketing and have done all the work to get visitors to your site only to have them click on your ad and leave your site, never to return. You want them to focus on your site first and then look at the ads you post.

Creating a quality blog

You may not consider the design factor of your blog as important, at least when it comes to advertising, but it is critical to success. The design of your blog should always be geared towards keeping visitors on your site. There are three main areas where you should focus your design efforts.

The first is where the visitor looks as soon as the page loads in their web browser. Most people look at the top left corner of the screen. This should include your company name and/or logo. Posting an ad here is tantamount to saying, "Thanks for stopping by, but why don't you check out the other company's site instead."

The eye will then move to the top center of the screen. You will find that most websites tend to put their mission statement or slogan here. This is where you tell your visitor why this website is exactly what they are looking for.

This is where the trend towards navigation comes in, and for good reason. You want your visitors to be relatively easy to navigate; you don't want them to struggle to find other pages on your site. Placing ads in this area may work, but if it interferes with your message or navigation, then it's counterproductive.

The visitor's eye then moves down the page. Many visitors don't scroll down the page if they really don't like the content. Placing an ad below the bottom of the viewable area often means that visitors won't even see it.

The best place to place ads is on the right and bottom of the screen. This way, your site and your message are still in the spotlight. Then, if the ad gets attention, then when someone clicks on the link, you make money.

Keywords and Google Adsense

When it comes to Google AdSense, you will be building your campaign around your website. While you don't want to have ads from your direct competitors on your site, you do want to stick to the same genre. In other words, if you're selling auto parts, ads from used car dealers are the way to go.

If you choose representative keywords or key phrases that have nothing to do with your website, then your website visitors are unlikely to follow those sponsored links and you will waste valuable space. It's a balance to choose the right keywords to submit. But if you do it right, you will earn income every month.

The more traffic you get, the more money you make

Google AdSense revenue won't just come from having your site static. Just because you're building a website, there's a web hosting company to support it, or take care of some other aspect of running it doesn't mean someone will come to your site. If they don't visit your site, they won't see the ads you put on it and therefore you won't be making any extra money.

It is important to remember that you can have up to three ads on your site at the same time. Some people need more to maximize their earning potential, but if there are more than three, visitors will start leaving your site before they even have a chance to see what you have to offer. You also don't have to post 3 posts; you can post 1 or 2 ads if you want.

You still need to use the same marketing strategies for your website as you normally would. Google AdSense income is the receipt of money from visitors who may be interested in topics other than what they were looking for. If you attract visitors who understand that they should have entered something else in your search, they can certainly return to the search engine or follow the ad from your site to something more relevant to their needs.

Evaluate your strategy monthly

When you want to generate income from Google AdSense, there is a balance to be struck between targeting the right keywords to complement your website and avoiding your business being passed on to competitors. Determine if you are choosing the right keywords each month and make adjustments accordingly. It is much better to make changes quickly than to wait and lose all that potential income.
